A Terrible Lawyer

  1. I'm confused does that mean the first wish he got granted prevents him from being fat... also will it stop him from cutting his hair or just naturally losing it?

    1. The listed maladies all "happen" to be specifically male ailments. He's not actually protected from getting fat, it's just that now if he gains weight, (not that he necessarily will) he'll do so as a woman does.

Because of differences in hormones, men usually first gain fat concentrated over their bellies, in what's often called a "beer gut," while women gain fat distributed more evenly over their bodies, and the first concentrations occur not over the stomach but around the breasts, hips and buttocks. By turning him female, the genie stopped him from risking a "beer gut;" if he were to gain weight, he'd do it along female lines.

Likewise, the hair itself isn't enchanted—he could still cut it if he wanted too—it's just that since he's female now, he won't develop male pattern baldness. As Brandon protests, other parts of the document actually contained provisions against exactly this kind of misinterpretation, but since those were actually separate wishes, the genie wasn't bound obey them.
